So like most Brits yesterday I decided to go ahead and embrace/pretend to be a royalist for the afternoon and enjoyed celebrating the jubilee! Funny how a few bank holidays are enough to keep most people happy… Anyway, so me and Katy went for an afternoon tea at the newly opened Serendipity in Sunderland. Cue tea, cute finger sandwiches, cupcakes with union flags on them, and scones with clotted cream and jam. Delicious! While chatting to the lovely June, the owner, I was particularly impressed to learn that her kitsch cake stands were all home made! The finished article, she explained, was the result of collecting cute plates and a whole lot of drilling.. Brilliant.
