B is for buddies, banTOR, and (Fat) Buddha..

I have literally just had one of the best weekends ever! Now without getting all soft on you lot..
Somebody once told me that the test of true friendship is how long you can go without seeing someone and still be able to pick up exactly where you left off. This weekend I got to catch up with some of my favourite ladies and despite not seeing a couple of them in nearly a year, it was exactly the same as it was before.

After taking two entire days off, I’m still catching up with everything that I should’ve been doing.. totally worth it though! A few of the girls from uni came up to visit and after not seeing them for almost a year, you can imagine we had a lot to talk about. It’s so strange thinking that one of the last time we were actually all together was here.

On Sunday, Hayley and Emma both had to leave kind of early so after dropping Hayley off at Central Station, me and Kate headed to the newly opened Fat Buddha in Newcastle. We tucked into salt and chilli king prawns, veg spring rolls, and prawn crackers. Then for our mains, I had the king prawn Malaysian curry and Kate had the Singapore vermicelli. Bloody delicious! Formerly Linekars (though I have to admit that I had never actually been in..), it’s in such a gorgeous building with great view of Collingwood Street. I loved the huge ceiling domes which literally flood the restaurant with light. As you know already, I’m a huge fan of the Durham Fat Buddha, so I’m happy to report that this one lives up to expectations. If you’re in Toon then you need to make a visit! Their lunch menu is fab and not too badly priced!
