After a pretty stressful week, I decided to disappear for a couple days to spend time catching up with the people who matter. It was Mairi’s birthday this weekend, so after having a heavy night at World HQ on Saturday, we headed out this afternoon for a wander around the quayside market. (Thankfully there are not many photos from last night, but a personal highlight of the night was managing to convince an entire takeaway shop, including staff, to join in singing happy birthday to her at 3am).
With the weather being so nice the quayside was really busy, so we decided to grab some food at the Baltic cafe in the sunshine.
It may be a little bit biased of me (because Chris, Mairi’s boyfriend, is the head chef) but the food is amazing! I tucked into huge spiced lamb burgers served with tzatsiki and chickpea chips, but there was so much choice on the menu! It’s not too badly priced and with it being right on the quayside you’ve got great views of the river and the bridges. We sat in the outside area enjoying the sun and nursing our hangovers (some were definitely suffering more than others).
On a slightly different note, some of you may have noticed that I’ve set up a facebook page for my blog. After my post about trolling, it was something I’d been thinking about for a little while. Over the last year, I’ve become much more open about my blog and with a lot more of my friends and family reading my posts, I figured it was an easier platform for them to use to read my posts! If you’ve got a page too and I haven’t already liked it then please post your link on my facebook wall so I can add it!
Looks delicious !
