It's the most wonderful time of the year..

Christmas-tree-christmas-decorating

Just a few snaps from this week.. I’m a huge fan of all things (even slightly) Christmas related but with so much going on, I’ve not really had a chance to post much on the blog. I started to feel really Christmassy and get a bit excited last night after a little drive up to Seaham beach and seeing these illuminated deer on the seafront.

I still can’t figure out how has Christmas crept up so quickly though? I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve tomorrow! I guess it hasn’t really help that the last week has been a constant race against time: buying all of my Christmas presents, decorating the tree, wrapping everything up and making sure I had all my loose ends at work tied up before we left for the holidays. Plus to keep everyone’s Christmas spirit up, I organised a gingerbread building competition as a festive team building exercise! Now, when I suggested this to my boss, he thought it was a great idea.. And so did I, until I realised I’d have to rope my mother into helping out, and after four hours and FIVE batches of gingerbread we finally made enough! The teams were split into Studio Precept and Shift, and it didn’t take long for everyone to realise it was a lot harder than it looked! Team Shift won hands down though with their amazing gingerbread version of Studio Precept (I’m the one in the left hand corner, huddled by the heater!). Our attempt at a pretty basic house was a little messier..

It’s a bit weird but this is the first time in the last seven years that I’ll have had the WHOLE of Christmas and New Year off. I can’t wait to be able to spend time seeing friends, catching up on my reading (books and blogs), and of course, overindulging! Plus it seems like a good time to get my own blogging back on track..
Have you got much planned over the holidays?
