In the middle of my full scale panic last week about the Mal event, I had a lovely message from the folks at Popolos asking how I’d like to attend their Cuban street party. Since me and Justine had literally been discussing how we need to plan a trip to Cuba soon, it seemed rude not to. So after Meet Up At Mal, we headed over to see what it was all about. When we first got there, the party hadn’t really started (and we were too starving to wait 2 hours for the free bbq to start) so we headed next door to Alvinos for pizza, mojitos and a little dance on the balcony as the Cuban band in Popolos started up.
With a stage set up in the side street for the live music, cuban cigars on sale and some extremely potent Havana cocktails (including a top secret barrel-aged El Presidente), and a free BBQ on offer, it was definitely the perfect way to spend Saturday night! And we made the most of drinking and dancing the night away. Fingers crossed they put on another one soon!
