After a weekend of resting I was hoping to be feeling better and back to normal. Unfortunately I’m still housebound and just about ready to start climbing the walls. I’ve read the paper, read my book, watched more Gossip Girl and thrown myself into some writing. Trying to rest is definitely hard work. I’m just not used to sitting still for so long. I’ve spent the last few days in PJs, (which sounds great but trust me, the novelty is wearing off), so I thought it might make me feel a bit better to get dressed today. And because my brother was home from college this afternoon, managed to talk him into taking some outfit photos for me. Since I’m not feeling great, I opted for a few of my most recent favourites to cheer me up: my new gingham skirt and a fluffy jumper. Hey, if I’m spending practically all day in bed, hugging a hot water bottle then I need to feel nice and cosy, right?

After I posted the photo of this gingham Topshop skirt since I posted about it on instagram and in my last blog post. It seems like most places are sold out in smaller sizes but my dad actually got mine from the petite section (so maybe they’re still in stock in some stores?) It’s not a section I’d normally get things from because I always just assume the skirts would be too short but I’m 5’4″ and I’d say this is the pretty much the perfect length! Although it’s not had a proper (outdoors) outing yet, I can see myself living in this for the next few weeks.. Although as it’s wool and I’m allergic, I’ll be a bit more limited when the warmer weather comes and I don’t have tights on to stop by legs being irritated by the fabric!

This skirt is seriously gorgeous, and I love the way it looks with your jumper! This is a really cosy outfit. You haven't convinced me, I'm still jealous of you spending all day in your pjs 🙂 xx

Cuteee!! I have a black and white plaid wool mini skirt that I'm tempted to start playing with now 🙂

Our weather in Michigan has been like -20 C for a while, so I know how you feel being stuck indoors–I've been trapped inside as well. Over it! x

I tried on that skirt but I'm 5 foot 1 and it wasn't a petite version so I didn't feel like it looked right on me. Jealous of how gorgeous you look in it though! Also loving the jumper!! I want one like that x

You sure don't actually look 5'4 in these photos, some voodoo trickery or just the shoes? I think writing/blogging is a great way to spend some time, especially seeing as you're stuck indoors. Much more productive that telly could ever be. Have you thought of learning something new while you're in?

Thank you for the sweet comment about me going back to uni to chat and sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. It was a great experience for me and one I won't forget. Plus now I know I can speak in front of an audience, something which I never imagined happening.
